The Australian Red Cross is one of the many Red Cross societies across the world; it was established in 1914. The ARC supports and runs a number of projects across Australia whilst raising awareness to the Australian public about current societal issues. These include blood projects, humanitarian projects and disaster services.
The Australian Red Cross engaged Formative to support the work of its communications and social media team. With the continued importance of social media in all of its external communication, there was a desire to extend knowledge and insight about digital platforms throughout the team. Formative developed and ran a two day workshop for the media team to help develop their capabilities in the creation and dissemination of social media content to target audiences.
The Australian Red Cross media team were able to begin to develop and share stories across social media, as well as via traditional media channels. In this way they are able to reach a broader audience, often disenfranchised and reliant on social media for their communication.
